Charging by the day is simple in principle: log the days you worked, bill for them, get paid. In practice it usually means a mix of a calendar, a spreadsheet, and a word processor — or a full bookkeeping platform built for invoices that look nothing like a day-rate contractor's.
BillSlate exists to be the one tool that fits that workflow exactly: log a day against a client's rate in three taps, turn unbilled days into a clean invoice, and keep track of who still owes you and how late they are.
What we believe
Everything runs on your device
No account required, no developer-run backend. The only network calls are a subscription-status check and, if you choose to use it, opening your own mail app.
An issued invoice never changes
Once an invoice is issued, its number, client details, rates, tax lines, and due date are locked forever. Corrections happen through a clearly marked void and a linked replacement — never a silent edit.
Real tax situations, handled correctly
Multiple named tax lines per invoice, each rounded independently, the way multi-tax jurisdictions actually expect — not a single flat-rate afterthought.
Your data belongs to you
No analytics, no telemetry, no ad SDKs. Back up your ledger to an encrypted file whenever you like, and delete everything permanently with one confirmed action.
A billing tool, not an accountant
BillSlate is a billing and record-keeping tool. It is not an accounting, bookkeeping, or tax-preparation product, doesn't connect to a bank, and gives no legal or tax advice.
