Privacy Policy

Summary
BillSlate does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your personal data. Everything you enter — clients, logged work days, invoices, tax labels, and settings — stays on your device unless you choose to export, back up, or share it yourself.
What BillSlate Stores, and Where

Backups Are Encrypted, and Yours to Keep
When you back up your ledger, BillSlate writes a single encrypted, password-protected file. You choose where it's saved using your device's own file/share picker — a BillSlate server never sees it, holds a copy of it, or has any way to decrypt it. If you forget the password you set on a backup, that backup cannot be recovered by BillSlate or anyone else.
What BillSlate Does Not Do
- No account or sign-in is required or offered.
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking of any kind.
- No advertising SDKs, and no ads are shown.
- No device identifiers or advertising identifiers are collected.
- No data is sold or shared with third parties, because no data is collected from you in the first place.
- No cloud backend operated by the developer exists to store, process, or have access to your data.
- BillSlate does not connect to your bank and never moves money — it only records that a payment happened, at your own instruction.
Network Connections BillSlate Makes
Two, and only two, network connections ever happen:
- Subscription status checks — verifying your BillSlate Pro entitlement with Apple's App Store or Google Play, using their own standard purchase-verification systems.
- Support email — if you tap a "Contact Support" link, BillSlate opens your device's own mail app with a pre-filled address. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send that email yourself.
Permissions BillSlate Requests, and Why

None of these permissions are used to collect data about you — they exist solely to provide the feature you enabled. Overdue reminders are worded to reveal nothing about your business if your lock screen is visible.
Deleting Your Data
Settings → "Delete All My Data" immediately and permanently deletes every client, logged day, invoice, and generated document stored on your device, including the independently-stored data behind the home-screen widget. Your device's own automatic backup (iCloud Backup on iOS, Android's auto-backup) never held a copy in the first place — BillSlate's app data is excluded from those backups by design, so there's no separate backup copy to delete. This does not affect a previously purchased BillSlate Pro entitlement, which is tracked by Apple/Google, not by BillSlate — "Restore Purchases" re-applies it if needed.
Not Tax or Accounting Advice
BillSlate is a billing and record-keeping tool. Any tax set-aside estimate or exported figures it produces are calculations based on numbers you entered, not tax advice, and BillSlate does not file taxes on your behalf or replace an accountant.
Children's Privacy
BillSlate is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect information from its users at all.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the "Effective date" above will be updated and the new version published at this same URL.
